12x16 Dutch Barn for Sale in CT

This Amish built 12x16 Dutch Barn is located at our Berlin location. Within the state of CT any structure that does not exceed 200 square feet does not require a building permit; One last thing you need to worry about. This shed las 6x6 double doors with transom windows, and 2 24x36 single hung windows that are fully functioning with screens. As you enter into the shed you will immediately notice that overhead height. As a result we equipped this barn with a 4x12 loft giving you an additional 48 square feet of storage space, and a great area to tuck away items that are not used on a regaulr basis. We also added 2 different venting systems, a 16’ shingle over ridge vent, and 2 12x12 gable end vents.

One of the nicer options displayed here is our New England Package. This package consists of Z style shutters, 13” classic decorative black hinges, transom windows in the double doors, 4” wide door trim, 4” wood corners, 1x6 gable trim, and 1x6 facia trim. This package not only adds additional character to your new shed, but also allows for more natural light to enter.

Let’s talk materials! The base of this structure has 5 4x4 premium grade pressure treated runners. Opposite the runners standing up on end are 2x4 pressure treated floor joists, and above that a 5/8” PerformMax flooring. This flooring leads the industry as it has a 25 year warranty agains pitting as well as delamination. Inside the shed we have premium grade kiln dried lumber spaced 16” on center. We then have a double top plate and double studded corners that interlock for even more strength! All of our rafters are secured with collier ties and nailed gusset plates.

The siding on our sheds is an LP Smart Siding. This product is infused with a zinc borate. As a result it is termite proof, not prone to absorb waters or oils, resists fungal decay, and is backed with a 50 year warranty. All of our shingles are lifetime GAF Timberline Architectural shingles.
